BACKGROUND
When you observe earth from space, you see no boundaries. Boundaries have been set by the peoples of the earth throughout their history. Those boundaries have always been pushed back by people. To understand the complexity of Ukraine’s war with Russia, it is necessary to go as far back as possible in the history of both countries. There is a remarkable term in that history that invites you to delve deeper: Kievan Rus. The name Kiev still exists, also the word Rus. Long ago Moscow and Kiev were part of one and the same state in which Kiev was the center first, and later Moscow. This explains a lot about their deep, almost indivisible intertwining, which is demonstrable in what is called ethnicity, through race, language, art, culture, architecture, religion, history and politics. It goes deeper than rational thinking, because this is an interhuman event connected with the soul. Here are some links to websites that explain the history of the close relationship between Kiev and Moscow.

THE HISTORY OF 1648 – 2015
This history is visualized in the Oliver Stone documentary “Ukraine On Fire” (2016)
Media commentary on this documentary: According to the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, “the Ukraine on Fire documentary was
rejected with contempt for bringing up the Russian story of the 2014 Euromaidan revolution in Ukraine and portraying it as a
nationalist coup orchestrated by the United States”. According to Hollywood Reporter, critics say “the documentary presents a Kremlin-friendly version of events.”

Jeffrey Sachs in his article: “The Ninth Anniversary of the Ukraine War” about this documentary, on page 2:

“US Film director Oliver Stone helps us to understand the US involvement in the coup in his 2016 documentary movie, Ukraine on Fire.  I urge all people to watch it, and to learn what a US-regime change operation looks like.  I also urge all people to read the powerful academic studies by Prof. Ivan Katchanovski of the University of Ottawa (for example, here and here), who has laboriously reviewed all of the evidence of the Maidan and found that most of the violence and killing originated not from Yanukovych’s security detail, as alleged, but from the coup leaders themselves, who fired into the crowds, killing both policemen and demonstrators.”

THE HISTORY FROM 2014
In the more recent history of Ukraine we see a growing interference from the west, especially the USA, in the politics of Ukraine.

The recently published video with details from the WikiLeaks shows that the taking of Ukraine by the West was already on the table in political talks in 2008. This makes clear that what is now taking place in Ukraine is related to a strategy carefully laid out by USA/NATO to increase the power of USA in Europe and on the world stage.
