PHOTO COLLECTIONS

Praise where praise is due.

The west does not show photos of the Russian Red Army, that has defeated Hitler. Therefore some photos are published here, to create the balance and to open eyes for Russia. As a liberator. The history about it has been documented by the Belgian Arnout Hauben, in his WWII series “Ten Oorlog II”, in which he walks from Stalingrad to Berlin. See more: here §5. Stalingrad, he says, was the beginning ot the u-turn in WWII, the beginning of the final end of Hitler’s power. The Soviet Union lost around 27 million people during the war, including 8.7 million military and 19 million civilian deaths. The largest portion of military dead were 5.7 million ethnic Russians, followed by 1.3 million ethnic Ukrainians. A quarter of the people in the Soviet Union were wounded or killed.
